A 2-Day journey through Chianti Classico’s rolling hills, from Florence to Siena
This 2-day tour connects you with Tuscany’s nature, history, and local life, while uncovering the flavours and stories of Italy’s most iconic wine region. Instead of rushing along the highway, you’ll cross Chianti from north (San Casciano) to south (Gaiole), discovering medieval towns, vineyards, olive groves, and traditional family-run farms along scenic backroads.
Day 1 – from FLORENCE to PANZANO IN CHIANTI
We start in Florence, where you can leave your luggage with us for transfer to your accommodation. After fitting bikes, helmets, and water, your guide will provide a safety briefing and introduce the route. The morning ride takes us past Bellosguardo, with panoramic views and the Certosa monastery, before reaching San Casciano in the Chianti area. We stop at a family-run farm for a home-cooked multi-course lunch paired with their limited-production wines and extra-virgin olive oils. In the afternoon, we ride through Mercatale and Greve before tackling the final climb to Panzano, home to Dario Cecchini and his world-famous butcher shop and restaurant, featured on Chef’s Table - a powerful expression of Chianti’s culinary heritage, passion, and local life. We end the day at a beautiful villa, where you can relax at the pool before dinner.Day 2 – from PANZANO IN CHIANTI to SIENA
After breakfast, the ride begins with a downhill stretch towards Radda in Chianti. After exploring the town, we continue downhill to Gaiole, home of the vintage bike race L’Eroica. At lunchtime, we stop at a wine estate for a tasting followed by a traditional Tuscan lunch. In the afternoon, a scenic semi-downhill route leads us through Pianella and onward to Siena, where the tour concludes.An immersive, slow-paced journey between Florence and Siena through Tuscany at its best.
Important Notes
- The tour ends at Siena train station or San Domenico Church. You can then decide if going back to Florence or spend a night or more in Siena to visit (it is worth it!) - transportation back to Florence not included!
- Luggage transportation is included.
- The minimum height for Electric bikes is 150cm / 14 years of age.
- You must be proficient at riding a bike.
